OOC: Just delete all your posts in the thread, then keep posting below, that way we'll re-use this thread.
Garrett woke to the sound of metal on metal. He assumed it was his cat knocking over the equipment again and rolled over. Then it occurred to him that he was sleeping on grass and he woke with a start. He glanced around and found himself in a giant flat plain that dipped low and around a castle. It would only have taken a moment to realize he was not dreaming, but alas, that he did not have. A man- scratch that- woman wearing armor suddenly toppled over him backwords. She unsheathed her sword and yelled "Get off your ass this is war!" before dissapearing into the crowd that Garrett just noticed. It was in fact two armies and a squadron of archers, but to him crowd would be the more befitting word. He got up, thinking that he did not want to run into any more swordsm- women.
He assessed his situation. The last thing he remembered was his latest experiement, which, assuming it worked, had sent him into a random point in space and time. He cursed his impatience. Finally his work had shown some fruit and he gets himself lost in the event horizon! But that would come later, right know he needed to figure out where and when he was. "I can breathe... and the nearest planet capable of human life is about..." he didn't bother counting. Instead he sighed with relief. The chances of it would be astronomical, therefore, it could not have been truly random. He was on earth.
He had moved himself away from the battle now, having no wish to get any more involved than he already was. And yet... that did seem to be the only possible action. He was either in the middle of a very large and realisticly bloody roleplay, or he was in the distant past. That being said, he knew he had to be more accurrate than that if he wanted to get home. Either send in a rock for carbon dating, or see if he recognized a coat of arms on a historical timeline.
He slowly walked into the battlefield. He only needed a dead guy to let him look at his shield, but he was overcompensated. Aparently the female side had won the battle, and bodies were everywhere. He had just bent down to look when a sharp pain in his cheek bone stunned him and knocked him sideways. Before he could regain himself, a hand dug his head face first into the ground. He heard his captor yell "Arien! I've got a live one! Looks like a magic user!" It sure sounded like roleplaying slang, but he knew he mustn't get sarcastic. "If you could let me explain... Ouch!" he said and got another faceful of dirt. He knew he was in danger, yet his sarcastic view on life kept feeding him unhelping thoughts. They were just as pushy as the women he knew...
OOC: That is not going to be my average post-length. I had a boost because I started out.

Arien's green eyes looked to Lothar, the one who had pinned down this 'live one'. Her tone of voice had a slight accent to it and yet it was firm and somewhat demanding. She walked over and she spoke with the man holding him down. "Is he a threat?" She asked curiously, she would take no chances, not here. "No, he seems to be unarmed and somewhat lost to this place." He said in an affirmative tone of voice. She nodded. "Very well, take hold of him, we'll question him later." Arien was well armed and yet somewhat bruised up and a little bloody, but who wouldn't be after such a fierce battle.
This girl though had the body of a goddess. Her body firm and strong, yet she had the curves in all the right places. Her hair was a golden brunette and long at that. Her eyes were a deep emerald green. She wore a dark green skirt with a brown leather belt and a top that somewhat showed her midrift slightly. The rest of her heavily armed with all kinds of knives. Right now, the army would be looking through the wreakage of the battle. Those from their side would valiantly be burried, and those from the opposing side would respectfully be left there for the opposing side to claim. Arien though looked back to this newlyfound prisoner. "Take him to the cells, make sure he's well feed and taken care of, just because he's a prisoner doesn't mean he's an animal."
Those around her were slightly surprised, but this man didn't even seem to know where he was and that interested her slightly. They cleaned up what they could in the surrounding area and finally as dark approached, he would be able to hear the door to the dungeons open. It was again the woman from the battlefield. She was wearing the same thing and her wounds were treated for. Her light steps could be heard as small echoes in the halls. There were no other prisoners there. Only him. Her form came to stop before his cell now, and her beautiful colored eyes peered inside. She had stripped him of nothing so he still had his personal belongings. A sigh escaped her light pink lips.
"So..." She spoke up. "Who are you? What are you doing here? Are you a spy?" She spoke without fear, but in reality that was all she was. This was all a tough act. It would take a lot for this stranger to realize this though. She looked him up and down to get a good look at him. Waiting of couse for the answers that she wanted; only the truth. This girl had a gift, she could tell the truth with her eyes locking onto the other. She trusted her instincts and that in turn had gotten her ths far in life. Her hand went to one of the bars of the cell gently as she grasped it. Only leaning on it slightly. Her hands touching the cold of the cell bars. The smooth steal rang lightly as her fingertips grazed it.

"Spy? Perhaps..." Garrett responded to the interrogator. He was in no rush to say anything important to the woman who had been in suh a rush to hurt ihm. That and the problems of creating a temporal paradox...
"I suppose," he began slowly, "that it would depend a lot on where I am at the moment." He talked slowly and with an arrogant tone. He tried to pass hmiself of as the one who knew more than the other, but he couldn't quite tell if it was working. During the afternoon he had worked himself into a state of panic.. Faced with the reality of when he was, added to the fact that he was now a prisoner, had finally gotten rid of the false sense of protection he had gotten himself into when he recklessly waded into the battlefield.
After thinking it over, he was satasfied with the way he responded, but something else bothered him. He noticed that his captor tried never to lose eye contact. This was obviously an interrogation trick, but Garrett felt himself start to panic again. 'No.' he reassured himself 'I am the one in charge. The buffoons can take their swords and stick it up their...' He let himself get distracted again. He regained himself when his captor started to speak.

Arien gave somewhat of a smirk as she looked in on him. "You're not from around here are you?" She knew this already from the way he was speaking to her. He seemed nervous and lost as to what was going on around him. He had not fought them as they had brought him in, yet he refused to give her the answers to simple questions. "My name is Arien, I am captain of the guard to this kingdom" She spoke on somewhat friendly terms now. "So you know, your fate is in my hand."
Arien was being serious and still she did not break eye contact. She was almost staring him down hoping he would break. Not only that, but from the look in his eyes she would be able to tell if he was lying to her or not. A small sigh escaped from her lips though. "You're not in your hometown if that's what you're inquiring to, so merely give me a response. For a prisoner I've treated you fairly well." Her tone was one of command, yet she was not yelling, nor was she getting angry. Arien was VERY patient. She would get what she wanted and it would be her way. He had nothing to fear from her as long as he was not some kind of spy who later will burry his very dagger into her spine.
"At the moment, I am your friend, for right now, if my master were to find that we had a prisoner at all, you would not last very long. Speak now, trust me, it will benifit you in the future." She did speak the truth, and she could also be the one to set him free. The fact that she was so close to the bars were he coudl easily reach out and choke her to death should be enough trust for now. She still felt a little uneasy around him. As if he still knew something that she didn't. He was hiding something, she could feel it.

"I have already deducted that I'm not in Kansas anymore." Garrett replied sarcasticly. He had tried not to break eye contact, but the captor was much more skilled than he. He looked away in shame. "I'm well adjusted to a life in someone else's hands, though usually it's large muscular men. You are probably the first female. And possible the first not to try and kill me." As he said the last, he was able to grasp the idea of a friend more firmly. After all, she was close enough for him to unleash some serious damage. He toyed with the idea a bit more before deciding he would let down his guard a bit more. Not much, just enough to test the waters. "No I am not a spy." he finally admitted, "I am very lost at the moment, that is all."

She could see from the way that he was acting now that he was speaking the truth. In a way she felt for him, but she couldn't release him yet. Not even if she wanted to. "I..I know that you speak the truth, from the moment I saw you there. Hench why I didn't let them hurt you. Where do you hail from?" She asked out od pure curiosity. She knew very little out of this world, so she wanted to know. She seemed a little more friendly now, but she became more concerned with if somebody was listening, or if someone would come in at a time unanounced.

Feeling she was still not acting like a threat, Shift continued. "I do not hail from anywhere. I simply live there. Where I come from everyone fights over rule, and no one trusts the person who gets it. It's a place far from here, called America." He noticed that her stare had lightened, but realized also that wass because she was nervous. "You look like you're smuggling something over the border." he finally told her, not wanting to be anything less than abrupt.

Arien chuckled slightly at the fact that he thought that they were smuggling things over the boarder. "No, we're not doing anything of the sort. These...mauraders seem to be taking what we're trying to trade with England..and England is furious with us because they're not getting what they asked for..that was what this battle was about. As for you, you just seemed to be at the wrong place and at the wrong time. This...America...you speak of.....what is it? Where is it?" She seemed interested for she had never heard of such a place before.

Garrett knew America didn't exist at this time. so it would be safe to tell her that. However, telling here where and when might cause a problem. "Suffice it to say it is a long way from here." he said. He could feel his face drop, but didn't care if the other saw it. Sadness was not a crime. He walked towards the side of the cell and sat down. "I fear we have strayed from the subject." he began, "I can't imagine you would come all the way down here to talk about my home." He looked at the ceiling and sighed. "Perhaps there is something else you wanted to speak of?"

Arien studied him well for a moment, he was not from here, that was clear, but she could use his help. She herself broke from her strong stance and brought her lips near to where the bars met. "I can...free you from here.." She started, she paused for a moment, not knowing whether or not she should continue, yet she found it in her to do so. "Listen....I'm from a kingdom just south of the boarders of this land. A friend and I were traveling here, and it turned to be that he was a spy, of that I did not know, yet when were were interrogated, he blamed such a crime on me. I was inprisoned for a year, and on my final day I was given a choice. I could either stay and serve as their military captain, or they would kill me." She paused slightly, her eyes shifting from this newcomer to the door and then back.
Her hands were lightly shaking, no one here had ever seen her like this. "I..I chose to stay because not only could I help these traitors loose, but I could help my kingdom as well.I wish to be free of this bond though, and you....you're the only survior in many months...i've no one to talk to..and no one to trust, and I hope I've not placed my trust wrongly in you. We both want to be rid of this place, only say that you shall help me as well, and I can free you of these bars." She was slightly whispering now. "And should it come to it, at least you would leave here alive, if they catch me, they will not second guess their decision...please....can you help me as I can you?" She had a pleading, yet friendly, innocent tone. Her hands still wrapped around the cold steal of the bars as she peered in on him.

He smiled. So the one on the other side of the bars was the true prisoner. Sweet irony. "Look..." he began slowly, "I'm not a warrior, or a magician. I am a thief, a rogue, a ninja. Whatever the word is, we're not going to do anything valiant or honorable." He pased for effect, and to make sure the elf was listening. "I can help you out, but we'll have to play... dirty." He got up from the bench and stood in front of the elf. It occurred to him that for a person lost in time, he was keeping his composure fairly well. He would have figured out the reason for this, but he was too busy trying not to laugh at the irony in the situation. He enjoyed being in control, and this woman was desperate enough to serve two purposes in one. He looked the elf in the eye and said "Let's start simple. My name is Garrett Lovelock. What is yours?"

She swollowed now as she went from being above the clouds to being lower than dirt in just a few seconds. She was doing this on purpose though, who she was outside this dungeon at the moment was not truely her, it was all just an act, but now as she looked into the eyes of this person, who was merely in the wrong place at the wrong time, she feared him. Yet he spoke of doing things in the wrong manner. "I..I'm not afraid to play...dirty...as you say." She responded, anything was better than the life she lead now. He told her his name, so trust was being gained. "I..my name is Arien...Arien Brevity." She responded, she was a little lose and her so called seductive bad side was gone and she seemed like a little girl, someone who just wanted to be free.

"Arien... I like that name." He let his mind wander a bit before remembering not to be addle-minded about such a serious matter. "Arien, I want you to look around this area. I want you to look, then come back and tell me where all the guards are stationed, and where the corridors lead. Look for any possible exits. Any window bigger than five feet tell and no higher than second level counts." He stepped back. "Pretend this conversation never happened until you return."

Arien chuckled lightly hearing that she should go look to see where the guards were, some of her old composure returning, only because she was slightly excited. "You're looking at the cammander....I know where all the guards are, this is my setup, for now anyways..." She looked around slightly, worried now for she didn't want anyone to be listening in on this conversation. "There are 14 on each level of these corridors, the numbers decrease only slightly with each level of the tower. All in all there are about 150 guards here, the rest have gone east to the stronghold." She paused for a brief moment, her eyes looking into his for a second trying to find some comfort in anything, that she wasn't misplacing her trust..."As for the windows, there is only one set and they are the first set of windows once you exit the dungeons...and it's two and a half stories at least...they decrease with the stairs yet the lower the more the guards.."

OOC: I'm very interested in continuing this storyline, but only if you haven't moved on without me and made a conflicting back-story. I'll understand if you have.
